General PvE build
Finally saved up the money to buy myself some elite Armour but before I do I've decided I need to finalise a PvE build so I can apply the necessary runes etc. to my new armour. I currently use a Ssyns staff and so would like a build that could utilise that. I have all the games and expansions so technically I've got access to any skill though i've only completed Factions.
Any ideas for a build I could use would be greatly appreciated.
Current build: OACjEyiM5MRTpp40be5WmdzyJA
Mend Body & Soul, soothing Memories, Preservation, Ancestor's Rage, Spirit Burn, Essence Strike, Gaze From Beyond, Bloodsong
not great I know
(How do i post templates btw? I understand just the code doesn't work...

Minion Bomber Rits seem to be a nice way to go. You can find the build(s) floating around somewhere on Guru, or it's probably at PvX.
For templates with pre-determined codes, you can do [pre][build=OACjEyiM5MRTpp40be5WmdzyJA][/build][/pre] or [pre][build=Rit Guy;OACjEyiM5MRTpp40be5WmdzyJA][/build][/pre] to get something like [build=Rit Guy;OACjEyiM5MRTpp40be5WmdzyJA][/build]
If you want to start from scratch, you'd need to read this.

I'd go with:
Channeling+1 head
minor channeling
minor resto
superior vigor
2x vitae
5x survivors
For weapons, my set up is +5+30 sword+shield as non casting set (this includes summoning a spirit)
40/40 channeling for [splinter weapon] and [offering of spirit] spam
40/40 resto set for [protective was kaolai], [mend body and soul], [weapon of warding] and [wielder's boon]

I'd just like to add the following skills to this list:
[Great Dwarf weapon],[Great Dwarf Armor],[spirit rift],[life] and [vampirism]

since its a non-casting set why not go -5e on the sword (or spear) so you have less energy exposed while you're not casting

Grats on completing Factions! If you want to broaden your skill selection, check out the Kurzick/Luxon skills, the Sunspear skills, and the Eye of the North skills. Usually, the investment on more utility pays off a lot sooner than Elite armor.
Minion Bombing is not for everyone. With that said, if you have Heroes, you can generally find success at making them do the micro-minion-management for you. If given the choice, I would have chosen to complete Factions only up to Kaineng Center, then gone to Nightfall and EOTN for Putrid Bile and the Heroes, then go back and finish everything in order. Of course, if you've got 3 or so Heroes, you're gonna be spending even more money giving them tweaked skill bars and personalized armor...
The guide is written in generally chronological order. The guide is here on Guru, but currently it's hiding back on the second page of this Rit forum. http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3039479

First of all, get more weapons. Ssyn's isn't that great tbh.
The general weapon configuration:
Set 1: +5 energy/+30hp sword/axe/spear & -2/+30hp shield
Set 2: 40/40 Channeling Set
Set 3: 40/40 Restoration Set
Set 4: high energy set
^ it's a good place to start, but it really depends on what you want to do. If you want to play a full Channeler, full resto, hybrid support, minion bomber, etc, you're gonna need a lot of weapons, and my above weapon suggestions cover all but the minion bomber

As for your skills, the direct nukes aren't that great. Channeling is good for it's support skills that blow stuff up through other people, e.g [[Ancestor's Rage] and [[Splinter Weapon]. The general resto/channeling build is something like:
[Weapon of Warding][Splinter Weapon][Ancestor's Rage][Offering of Spirit][Protective was Kaolai][Life][no skill][Death Pact Signet]
The spare slot is whatever you want, I use [[Mend Body and Soul], though feel free to use something else or just muck around with it.
-----------------------------
There are other builds that you can run, theres the aforementioned Minion Bomber, full Resto Rits, etc.

Because the point is not to hide energy, but to be harder to kill. Besides, you might need those 10 energy to summon [life]
